Diagnostic Consultant

About the Role

We are seeking a Diagnostic Consultant who will drive strategy, development, and creation of diagnostics, including our new Guide Live system and ongoing innovations, as well as data definition and quality. The role involves managing ranking logic within the Health Report fault code ranker, supporting new program launches, and defining Electronic Service Tool test requirements in collaboration with Engineering. Diagnostic Consultants translate engineering information, repair strategies, and other sources into coherent data points and consistent language for dealer and customer technicians, directly impacting vehicle repair efficiency, customer uptime, and warranty expense. This role is key to achieving our vision of Remote and Autonomous Diagnostics for self-diagnosing vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Develop diagnostic processes and procedures for specific products and act as a subject matter expert in support of other groups within the company.
• Conduct problem-solving and analysis on product-related issues to improve product quality and reduce warranty expenses.
• Participate in the Engineering Design Review process and influence design decisions for improved diagnostics and serviceability in evolving product designs.
• Review and influence current product changes for improved diagnostics.
• Create requirements for the development of diagnostic tools (electrical, electronic, and mechanical) and validate changes to diagnostic tools for compatibility with product updates.
• Provide technical support to field test fleets and personnel diagnosing complex electronic and mechanical systems.
• Respond to situations requiring deeper investigation to isolate or resolve problems in equipment or software.
• Perform technical work requiring creativity, perception, and initiative.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of experience in the automotive or Heavy Duty industry, or
• Master’s degree and at least 1 year of experience in the automotive or Heavy Duty industry, or
• At least 5 years of experience in the automotive or Heavy Duty industry.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee, or Asylee). Work sponsorship (e.g., H-1B) is not provided for this position.

Qualifications

• ASE Certification is a plus.
• Strong electrical and mechanical diagnostic abilities.
