Diagnosis Validation Consultant
Qualifications
International medical graduate (MD or MBBS).
Passage of medical board exam or USMLE not required.
No specific medical coding skills or diagnoses validation experience needed, but CCS or CPC, CRC, CDIP or CCDS is beneficial.
Legally able to work in the USA.
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and electronic medical records (EMR).
Experience with EPIC EMR is highly beneficial.
Excellent clinical knowledge; no specialty requirements.
Strong English verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work continuously for 8 hours shifts (with breaks).
Quick learner, team worker.
Not excluded from participation in federally funded healthcare programs (OIG, SAM, DHCS exclusions lists).
Job Description
Analyze medical records of inpatient and outpatient services patients and determine if the diagnoses provided by physicians meet the guidelines for documentation with clinical indicators supporting the diagnoses.
Communicate with providers the findings via phone calls and emails and discuss the validity of the diagnoses.
Work under the supervision of KP Validation team manager.
Meet monthly productivity numbers and accuracy scores.
Screening
The KP Validation team will select the resumes of candidates who will participate in an oral interview and 3-part exam (clinical knowledge, computer/Microsoft office skills and employer/employee relationships).
If not selected, you may be called for future opportunities.
After a week, the selected candidates will be announced and scheduled for a required 4-hour onboarding/orientation at Pleasanton, CA.
KP will ship laptops and other equipment to your home before the meeting (you will bring these with you to the meeting).
The actual project starts 2 days after.
Benefits
Salary: $65-$72 per hour, based on experience.
