General Summary

Performs routine and detailed clerical and customer service duties and responsibilities in support of the County Clerk's office. Provides information, process documents, maintains records, responds to inquiries and complaints, and administers the rules and regulations of the County Clerk's office and the statutes of the State of Wyoming.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Answers the telephone and refers calls to appropriate department personnel.
  • Greets and assists public in a courteous manner and provides information on departmental, county, and state policies and procedures.
  • Performs research and prepares and provides detailed information on certified documents such as land records, court documents (death, divorce, trusts, repossession, and foreclosures) for the public and other entities.
  • Types and proofreads a variety of documents.
  • Maintains files and records.
  • Receives, processes, and sorts incoming mail and prepares outgoing mail.
  • Receives, processes, and prepares documents from dealerships, financial organizations, lawyers, courts, and other entities for recording.
  • Performs final evaluation of legal documents for completeness and compliance with general court rules and procedures.
  • Enters and retrieves various information from the computer system.
  • Works with internal and external entities to resolve a variety of issues.
  • Collections, records, processes, and delivers money, receipts, and documents.
  • Balances cash drawers, accounts, and receipts. Prepares daily bank deposits.
  • Participates in apportioning and distributing of collected money and assists in collection of all NSF checks.
  • Prepares periodic financial, statistical, or operations reports assigned.
  • Prepares monthly revenue report for the County Treasurer's office.
  • Administers applicable State and Federal statutes concerning filing process of titles, financial papers, deeds, oil and gas documents, marriage licenses, and other legal documents.
  • Performs related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma (or GED equivalent)
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in an office environment

Required Licenses or Certifications

  • Class C driver’s license

Physical Demands

  • Light physical demands, such as exerting up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
