About the Role

This position functions as the Federal Compliance Program Analyst at MDHHS, responsible for the implementation and oversight of data-specific activities related to the Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) Rule. The role serves as the recognized resource for collecting, analyzing, and maintaining program data necessary to meet federal requirements for the Medicaid HCBS Rule. The position provides research, findings, and technical assistance to the Federal Compliance team, as well as training and guidance on HCBS rule requirements related to data input, analysis, reporting, and related platforms. Additionally, this role analyzes compliance and performance measure data for the development and submission of federal reporting documents.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and oversee data-specific activities related to the Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) Rule.
  • Collect, analyze, and maintain program data to meet federal Medicaid HCBS Rule requirements.
  • Provide research, findings, and technical assistance to the Federal Compliance team regarding the HCBS Rule.
  • Deliver technical assistance and training on HCBS rule requirements, including data input, analysis, reporting, and related platforms.
  • Analyze compliance and performance measure data for federal reporting documents.
  • Work within established remote work policies, if applicable, including providing a secure and suitable remote workspace.

Requirements

  • Possession of a bachelor’s degree in any major.
  • For Departmental Analyst 12: Three years of professional experience, including one year of experience equivalent to the experienced (P11) level in state service.
  • For Departmental Analyst 9-12: Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and the equivalent of at least two years of full-time active-duty experience at or above the E-6 level in the uniformed services may substitute for the education requirement.
  • Successful completion of a background investigation and criminal records check as a condition of employment.

Work Location and Schedule

The physical location of this position is 400 S Pine St, Lansing, MI. Based on operational needs and within established limits, remote work or hybrid schedule requests may be considered. Approved remote or hybrid work must be completed within Michigan. Employees will be provided with state-issued computers; other remote office components (e.g., high-speed internet, secure workspace) are the employee’s responsibility.
