About the Role
Department Managers lead shifts every week, making sure customers get a fast, accurate, friendly experience every visit. Some managers also lead Departments, with responsibilities that may include managing assigned Systems like Training, Food Safety, and Inventory Management, setting goals, delegating tasks to their teams, following up, and reporting results back to their team and other managers.
Department Manager Responsibilities
- Guest Service Department Manager: Making sure Crew and Managers deliver a great customer experience, sales promotions are done well, all service staff are trained in service procedures, and the Front Counter, McCafé, and Drive-Thru areas are organized for the best service.
- Kitchen Department Manager: Making sure the restaurant delivers great quality food to customers quickly, food is always safe, food cost is controlled, and all kitchen staff are trained in production procedures, including new menu items.
- People Department Manager: Making sure the restaurant hires qualified crew, trains them well, and schedules them to meet restaurant sales and profit goals, as well as ensuring Crew get off to a good start and are recognized and motivated throughout their time working there.
Qualifications
- Previous managerial experience preferred, ideally within a restaurant, retail, or hospitality environment
- Positive team player with a flexible schedule
- Passion to work in the fast-paced McDonald's environment
- Must be 18 years or older
Pay
Department Manager wage—upon completion of all certifications—begins at $18 per hour and has a maximum of $27 per hour.
