About the Role

Forward Dental – Glendale is looking for an experienced Dental Office Receptionist to join our team. We are looking for someone who is professional, dependable, patient-focused, and comfortable working in a busy dental office environment. The ideal candidate will have strong front desk experience, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to prioritize patient care while managing multiple administrative responsibilities.

Schedule

  • Full-time position, Monday–Friday, 8 hours per day
  • Occasional Saturdays required

Compensation

$21.00–$24.00 per hour, based on experience

Responsibilities

As a Business Assistant, you will support the office by:

  • Greeting and checking in patients with professionalism and warmth
  • Answering phones and managing a high volume of calls
  • Scheduling and confirming patient appointments
  • Verifying insurance benefits
  • Assisting with claims management and follow-up
  • Collecting patient payments and discussing financial arrangements
  • Presenting patient financing options when needed
  • Supporting front office flow and patient communication
  • Partnering with the clinical team to create a smooth patient experience
  • Greet and welcome patients as they enter the office to create a great first impression of our team
  • Manage front office duties, including answering phones, checking office mail and email, communicating with patients and insurance companies
  • Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and records
  • Schedule and confirm appointments for multiple providers in the office
  • File patient insurance claims and follow up on outstanding claims, verification of benefits and explanation of coverage
  • Post insurance and patient payments and process accounts receivables
  • Review treatment plan fees and payment options with patients
  • Partner with the providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems to optimize office potential

Requirements

  • 2–3 years of dental office or front desk experience (A MUST)
  • Experience with claims management
  • Experience working in a high call-volume environment
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize patients over tasks
  • Comfort with patient collections
  • Experience offering or discussing patient financing options
  • Strong organization and multitasking skills
  • A positive, team-focused attitude
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced dental office environment
  • Experience working in a fast-paced and customer-centric environment
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
  • Availability to attend virtual training sessions (or in-person) periodically throughout the year
  • A tuberculosis (TB) test is required for all new hires in dental office positions (not applicable in FL & TN)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in a dental or medical setting
  • 1+ years of experience with insurance billing and accounts receivable
  • Dentrix or other dental software experience
