Dental Assistant I, II, or III
Position Summary
On-call Dental Assistant position available for our Vancouver - East Dental Clinic. Candidate will assist the dental provider in the delivery of dental procedures allowed by the WA State Dental Practice Act. Other responsibilities include assisting in Restorative, Prosthodontics, Endodontics, Orthodontics, Oral Surgery procedures, and any other procedures allowed by the WA Dental Practice Act. Major duties include maintaining proper records for material safety data sheets (MSDS), spore test, inventory of dental supplies, assisting in training new Dental Assistants, and organizing schedules to generate check lists for maintenance of dental procedures.
Qualifications and/or Experience
- Bilingual in Spanish or Russian highly preferred
- Valid WA State license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Organizational skills
- Dental record experience
- Familiarity with the utilization of computers
- Excellent customer service skills required
- Able to communicate, read, and write in English and have the ability to interpret common written material about dentistry
- Preferred bilingual in English/Spanish or English/Russian
- Preferred previous ortho experience
- As a Dental Assistant II, completed a formal Dental Assistant program at a College, Technical Institute or equivalent, with a minimum of 6 months of work experience
- As a Dental Assistant III, knowledgeable of proper sterilization methods and OSHA regulations including QI, able to duplicate and mount radiographs, place temporary restorations, take impressions, pour and trim models, place retraction cord, place matrix bands, perform coronal polish and give fluoride treatments, with a minimum of 2 years working experience
