Deduction Analyst
Key Responsibilities
- Research and resolve customer deductions, including spoilage, cash discounts, promotional programs, rebates, returns, freight claims, and other adjustments.
- Manage customer chargebacks and issue credits for validated deductions in a timely manner.
- Identify invalid deductions, collaborate with the Sales team to recover funds, and implement preventative measures to reduce recurrence.
- Aid customers and internal departments by providing account support, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining accurate customer data (e.g., account setup, master data).
- Generate monthly deduction and collections reports; assist with bad debt analysis and reconciliation activities.
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify customer-specific deduction trends and provide insights and recommendations to management.
- Contribute to ad hoc projects involving research, reconciliation, or process optimization initiatives.
- Support the development of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and help document standard procedures for deductions and collections.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience in a similar accounting or financial role.
- 3 years of experience in Accounts Receivable or Credit; cross-functional exposure to those departments is acceptable.
- Proficiency in accounting systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- SAP S/4HANA knowledge preferred.
