About the role

We are seeking a Customer Service Rep, Covered California to join our mission-driven team at CalOptima Health. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to improving healthcare access for thousands of individuals and families.

Responsibilities

  • Assists members and providers with questions and/or complaints related to Covered California regarding eligibility, benefits and covered services.
  • Supports members by providing information and directing cases to the appropriate operational teams.
  • Communicates and builds relationships with CalOptima Health's leadership and staff, as well as external contacts.
  • Manages multiple projects and identifies opportunities for internal and external collaboration.
  • Works independently and exercises sound judgment, communicating clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 6 months of experience in a call center capacity.
  • Experience with Covered California, health insurance exchange/marketplace and/or commercial Individual and Family Plan.
  • Typing speed of 35 words per minute (WPM).
  • Bilingual in English and one of CalOptima Health's defined threshold languages (Arabic, Farsi, Chinese, Korean, Russian, Spanish, Vietnamese).

  • Develops rapport and establishes effective working relationships with CalOptima Health's leadership and staff and external contacts at all levels and with diverse backgrounds.
  • Works independently and exercises sound judgment.
  • Communicates clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Works a flexible schedule; available to participate in evening and weekend events.
  • Organizes, analyzes, problem-solves and possesses project management skills.
  • Manages multiple projects and identifies opportunities for internal and external collaboration.
  • Motivates and leads multi-program teams and external committees/coalitions.
  • Utilizes computer and appropriate software (e.g., Microsoft Office: Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and job specific applications/systems to produce correspondence, charts, spreadsheets, and/or other information applicable to the position assignment.

Benefits

The position is approved for Full Office. If telework is approved, you are required to work within the State of California only and if Partial Telework, also come in to the Main Office in Orange, CA, at least two (2) days per week minimum. Competitive compensation for this role includes a pay grade of 301 - $47,840 - $64,584 ($23.00 - $31.0500). The final salary offered will be based on education, job-related knowledge and experience, skills relevant to the role and internal equity among other factors.
