About the role

Applied Industrial Technologies is seeking a full-time creative, resourceful customer service representative (CSR) in Portland, OR. This role involves providing professional and timely support to our sales team and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Account Managers to find products and services, solve customer needs, and build ongoing positive business relationships.
  • Handle customer inquiries, quotes, order processing, expediting, and returns.
  • Sourcing parts as needed.
  • Aid in generating sales.
  • Assist in the stockroom and deliver orders to customers as needed.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year customer service or inside sales experience.
  • Industrial distribution or parts counter experience a plus.
  • Hydraulic, bearings, or power transmission knowledge preferred.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, ability to multitask, and a sense of humor.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including English grammar.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Basic computer skills including Excel.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record (MVR).

Competitive hourly pay.

Schedule

Hours are 7:30 am – 4:00 pm Monday through Friday.
