Custodian - Six (6) Hours/Day

Year-round, 6-hour/day position based in the district’s Maintenance and Custodial department, reporting to the Custodian Services Manager.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, approximately 2:30–8:30 pm.

Pay

Starting hourly rate of $18.25–$21.00, based on experience (Classified Salary Schedule 2026-2027, step A132).

About the role

The Custodian ensures district buildings and grounds are regularly and thoroughly cleaned, equipment is properly maintained, safety standards are upheld, and school grounds meet district standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior custodial experience preferred.
• Prior experience in a school setting preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions and short correspondence in English.
• Effective verbal, expressive, and reactive communication skills.
• Exercise confidentiality, discretion, and good judgment.
• Adhere to the assigned work schedule with regular and punctual attendance.

Physical demands & work environment

• Regularly required to reach with hands and arms, stand, walk, bend, talk, and hear.
• Close and peripheral vision required.
• May lift up to ~50 pounds.
• Work with the public and staff while managing competing demands.
• Environment ranges from quiet to loud noise levels.
• Rare potential contact with bloodborne pathogens or bodily fluids.
• Frequent exposure to high or cold temperatures, chemical compounds, and/or sharp edges.
