Custodian - 8 hrs/day

About the role

Full-time custodian position at North High School. Standard schedule is 3:15 PM – 11:45 PM, with required day shift work during Winter, Spring, and Summer Breaks.

Responsibilities

• Clean/sanitize desk/table tops, door handles, and restroom fixtures
• Clean glass
• Dust horizontal surfaces, clocks, overhead screens, and blinds
• Wet mop floors; spot clean carpets and hard flooring
• Assist with deep cleaning during break periods — stripping, scrub & recoat, carpet extraction, cleaning restrooms, glass, and furniture
• Trash removal
• Remove snow
• Minor grounds keeping and lawn mowing
• Assist with delivery of supplies
• Properly maintain equipment
• Report maintenance issues to Head and Lead custodians
• Clean restrooms
• Must work days during summer
• Perform other duties as assigned

Pay

New Hire Entry Level Rate: $18.17/hr. Current employees with seniority in the bargaining unit should refer to the Salary Schedule established by the bargaining unit.

Physical requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 56 lb.
• Ability to climb up to an 8-ft ladder and perform custodial tasks (e.g., cleaning light fixtures)
• Ability to climb steps and work on uneven ground
