Custodian - 4 hrs/day

SMART MIDDLE SCHOOL 4 HR CUSTODIAN 7:30 PM - 11:30 PM INTERNAL BIDS THRU 6/4/26 @ 4:00 PM. EXTERNAL APPLICANTS (WE WILL HIRE EXTERNALLY IF NO SUCCESSFUL INTERNAL BIDDER): Open until filled. New Hire: Entry Level Rate $17.84/hr. (2025-26 rate): $18.17/hr eff 7/1/26. Current employees with seniority in the bargaining unit, please refer to the Salary Schedule established by the bargaining unit. Up to a possible maximum $750.00/yr Differential Stipend is available. Duties & Responsibilities: (Essential Functions of Position, Major Responsibilities, Summary of Key Duties, Special Assignments, Relationships) Vacuums all areas- hard & soft surfacesRepositions furniture correctlyDust/vacuum ceiling ventsRemoves trashVacuum upholstered furnitureAssist with deep cleaning during break periods- stripping, scrub & recoat, cleaning restrooms, glass, and furniture.Removes snow.Minor grounds keepingLawn mowingAssist with delivery of suppliesProperly maintain equipmentReport maintenance issues to Head & Lead CustodianPerforms other duties as assigned Physical Requirements of Position: (HBV X Yes No) Ability to lift & carry up to 56 lb. Ability to climb up to an 8-ft ladder and perform custodial task ie; cleaning light fixture. Ability to climb steps and work on uneven ground Ability to understand and follow oral instructions. In addition to these specific qualifications this person must meet all the general qualifications as listed in the custodian job description of the Davenport Community School District.
