Custodian - 4 hrs/day

Internal bids accepted through June 4, 2026 at 4:00 PM. External applicants will be considered if no successful internal bidder is selected.

Pay

• New Hire (Entry Level): $17.84/hr (2024-25 rate), increasing to $18.17/hr effective July 1, 2026
• Current employees with seniority in the bargaining unit: refer to the Salary Schedule established by the bargaining unit
• Up to $750.00/year Differential Stipend available

Schedule

7:30 PM – 11:30 PM

Responsibilities

• Vacuum all areas—hard and soft surfaces
• Reposition furniture correctly
• Dust and vacuum ceiling vents
• Remove trash
• Vacuum upholstered furniture
• Assist with deep cleaning during break periods, including stripping, scrubbing, and recoating floors; cleaning restrooms, glass, and furniture
• Remove snow
• Minor grounds keeping and lawn mowing
• Assist with delivery of supplies
• Properly maintain equipment
• Report maintenance issues to Head & Lead Custodian
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 56 lb
• Ability to climb an 8-ft ladder and perform custodial tasks, such as cleaning light fixtures
• Ability to climb steps and work on uneven ground
• Ability to understand and follow oral instructions
• Must meet all general qualifications listed in the Davenport Community School District custodian job description
• High school diploma or GED
