Custodian III - 8.0 hours per day - Beaumont High School
Beaumont Unified School District is located in the scenic San Gorgonio Pass, between Palm Springs and Southern California’s Inland Empire. The district supports the growing communities of Beaumont, Cherry Valley, and portions of Calimesa and Banning, serving over 12,000 students across seven elementary schools, two middle schools, a comprehensive high school, a middle college high school, an alternative school, a home education program, and a large adult education program.
About the role
Under supervision, the Custodian III monitors and performs activities to keep an assigned site clean, sanitary, safe, and orderly. This position is responsible for custodial, groundskeeping, and maintenance duties to ensure the facility is maintained at a high standard of cleanliness and safe operating condition. The role includes coordinating and scheduling work for other custodians and grounds workers, and may supervise temporary help.
Responsibilities
- Perform custodial duties to maintain cleanliness and sanitation of assigned facilities.
- Maintain and upkeep school grounds, including landscaping and minor repairs.
- Coordinate and schedule work for custodial staff and temporary workers.
- Ensure facilities are safe, secure, and ready for educational use at all times.
- Perform related maintenance tasks as required.
Requirements
- Three (3) years of experience in cleaning and maintaining building areas.
- Proof of high school graduation (diploma, transcripts, GED, or higher education degree).
Pay
Pay range: $26.35 to $36.07 per hour. Maximum starting salary for external candidates with 3+ years of experience is $29.65 per hour. An additional 5% night differential applies to this position.
Schedule
- 12-month position, Monday to Friday.
- Work hours: 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm, including a 30-minute meal break.
