CTE Teacher - Rockingham YDC
About the role
The Department of Public Safety's mission is to safeguard and preserve the lives and property of the people of North Carolina through preparation, prevention, and protection with integrity and honor. This position is a 12 month position within Rockingham Youth Development Center teaching CTE courses to small groups of students in grades 6-12.
Responsibilities
- Plan lessons based on the NC Standards and student’s individual learning needs.
- Ensure success with all students while providing appropriate and engaging activities to teach concepts.
- Utilize data to inform all instructional activities based on NC Standards, implement IEPs, and keep all student records updated.
- Serve as a member of the interdisciplinary team to plan for student services and treatment.
- Keep all student records, exceptional children's program and other paperwork, and student progress up to date.
Requirements
The salary for this position is based on the state teachers' salary schedule plus a 6% annual supplement. Work Schedule is a full-time position with Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4pm. We offer great Benefits!
Qualifications
- A valid North Carolina teacher license, "A" or "M", with teaching certification in the area of CTE (middle school) or CTE (high school).
- A four year college degree from an accredited post-secondary education institution.
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of NC Standards and student learning needs.
- Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience interpreting laws governing programs for students with exceptionalities.
- Experience writing individualized education plans.
