Position Qualifications
- CTE certification from an approved Educator Preparation Program (EPP) preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution preferred.
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction and ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
- Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
Specialized Responsibilities And Duties
- Affixes students in obtaining Industry Certifications.
- Serves as an active sponsor to respective Career and Technical Student Organization(s) (CTSO).
- Promotes Career and Technical Education Initiatives.
Instructional Strategies
- Develops and implements lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of school curriculum programs and show written evidence of preparation as required.
- Prepares emergency lesson plan folder to cover 2 days of material.
- Prepares lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles.
- Presents subject matter according to guidelines established to Texas Education Agency, board policies, and administrative regulations.
- Plans and uses appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students.
- Conducts assessment of student learning styles and uses results to plan instructional activities.
- Works cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for SPED students according to guidelines established in Individual Education Plans.
- Determines instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to district requirements.
- Plays a role in supervising assignments of teacher aids and volunteers.
- Utilizes technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process.
- Participates in extended day and weekend school tutoring as required.
- Uses ICEV curriculum to promote College and Career Readiness.
Student Growth And Development
- Helps students analyze and improve study methods and habits.
- Teaches students to work toward self-discipline and responsibility.

- Creates a positive classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
- Maintains neat and orderly classroom.

- Establishes and maintains open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, directors, and teachers.

- Participates in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.
- Attends one Career and Technical Education conference per academic year.
