CTE Teacher

About the role

This position supports soft skills development and specific lab-driven occupational experiences in up to four entry-level occupational areas. It includes coursework support for the Career and Occupational Standards Commencement Credential (CDOS).

Responsibilities

• Support soft skills development and specific lab-driven occupational experiences in up to four entry-level occupational areas.
• Provide coursework support for the Career and Occupational Standards Commencement Credential (CDOS).
• Teach 10 months per year with a strong potential for Extended School Year for interested applicants.
• Teaching schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 8:00 am - 2:45 pm, Wednesday 8:00 am - 3:45 pm.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree required, master’s preferred.
• Could be part of the Office of Professionals Certification.
• Experience working with students in a job training program.
• Experience with at-risk youth and/or youth with special education needs preferred.

Qualifications

• Career and Technical Education (CTE) certification, Family and Consumer Sciences, Agriculture and Business and Marketing certified individuals will be considered.
• Individuals who are seeking certification through one of the NYSED CTE pathways may be considered.
• Experienced Crafts People interested in Teaching and using their experience to gain certification are encouraged to apply.

Skills

• Knowledge of Career and Technical Education (CTE) standards and best practices.
• Ability to work effectively with at-risk youth and/or youth with special education needs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Benefits

• Compensation range: $55,000 - $65,000 per year.

Pay

• $55,000 - $65,000 per year.

Schedule

• Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays 8:00 am - 2:45 pm.
• Wednesdays 8:00 am - 3:45 pm.

Office of Professionals Certification

• The position could be part of the Office of Professionals Certification.
