CTE TEACHER

About the role

Rite of Passage Team is hiring a Career Technical Education Teacher at The Dermott Juvenile Treatment Center (D.J.T.C) in Dermott, Arkansas.

Responsibilities

• Support the academic and personal growth of at-risk young males (ages 18-21)
• Teach subjects aligned with the curriculum provided by the center
• Facilitate vocational training programs to enhance life skills
• Provide a structured environment that fosters self-discipline, self-respect, and motivation
• Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a holistic approach to student development

Requirements

• Possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree
• Have an active teacher's certification in Education
• Be at least 21 years of age
• Pass a criminal background check, drug, physical, and TB test
• Pass a search of the child and adult abuse central registry
• Meet the requirements to become an ROP eligible driver, including having a valid Driver's License

Qualifications

• Experience working with at-risk youth is preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of best practices in career technical education

Skills

• Effective teaching and classroom management skills
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Strong organizational and time management skills
