About the Role
We are seeking an experienced nurse for a travel assignment focusing on adult critical care, including transplant units (kidney, liver, lung, heart). The role involves floating across multiple units within the organization—such as Neuro ICU, Surgical ICU, Medical ICU, Cardiology, and SICU/MICU/NCCU—based on staffing needs and patient acuity. This position is in a teaching hospital setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care during night shifts, floating across units as needed.
- Perform IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and ventilator management.
- Complete labs within 48 hours and adhere to unit protocols.
Requirements
- 12 months of recent nursing experience, with at least 3 months in the last year and 22 months in a Critical Care Float Pool.
- Proficiency with Epic electronic health records.
- Ohio or compact nursing license.
- Experience with labs, telemetry, ventilators, and IV starts.
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale.
- Education from an ACEN or CCNE-accredited program.
- References covering at least 1 year of relevant recent experience, preferably from recent supervisors.
- Must be able to start within 7 days, with a maximum of 14 days off.
- Proof of identification and completion of pre-employment modules may be required.
Additional Details
Local and travel candidates will be considered; those living within 60 miles are processed as local. Candidates currently applying to specific research centers at Ohio State University are ineligible for this role at Ohio State University facilities.
