Criminal Intelligence Analyst Level II
Pherson is seeking a Criminal Intelligence Analyst to join an embedded team supporting the Federal Protective Services in Springfield, VA. This is a full-time, onsite position with standard Monday-Friday work hours. A TS/SCI clearance is required.
About the Role
Provide intelligence services related to the analysis, processing, development, and distribution of strategic and criminal intelligence supporting Federal Protective Services operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform strategic, operational, and tactical analysis based on raw intelligence collected from a variety of sources.
- Adhere to and apply IC analytic tradecraft standards (e.g., ICDS 203, 206, 208).
- Utilize databases and software programs used in the intelligence environment, including Microsoft Office suite, M3, TAC, HOTR, Google Earth, Intelink, National Exploitation System, Gemini, MIDB, GCCS-J, and various message handling systems.
- Communicate factual information clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, often under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Exercise independent judgment, develop relationships, and obtain consensus among interested parties.
- Develop peer networks across an enterprise to maintain technology awareness and support problem resolution.
- Operate across traditional technical boundaries, working in both compute and storage spaces in an operational capacity.
Requirements
- Associate degree with 4 years of experience as an intelligence analyst, or Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience, or Master’s degree with no prior experience required.
- Strong risk management, communication, teamwork, and conflict management skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to prioritize needs, requirements, and issues effectively.
- Critical thinking with strong technical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
- Self-starter with flexibility, adaptability, and a collaborative approach to continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred in International Studies, Intelligence, Homeland Security, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
- Current Intelligence Fundamentals Professional Certification (or higher DIE Certification) or ability to obtain it within 90 days of hire.
- Prior experience performing Open-Source Collection.
- Criminal Intelligence analysis experience.
- Experience working with DHS data sources.
- Knowledge of DHS FPS intelligence authorities, DHS component missions, and the role of FPS in supporting the DHS Intelligence Enterprise.
- Specific knowledge of Title 18 authorities.
- Knowledge of multiple open-source areas including surface, deep, and dark web.
- Knowledge of multiple collection techniques or approaches, including developing collection plans and dissemination practices.
- Experience researching and providing evaluations for Intelligence Information Reports (IIR).

Pay
$70,000–80,000 per year.
