About the Role
The Judicial Department works to provide equal access to justice, contribute to public safety, and strengthen the rule of law across Colorado. This position provides expert-level, multi-faceted support within the criminal clerks office, including auditing and analyzing court operations data, evaluating and recommending policy or procedural changes, preparing management reports, and serving as a liaison with local agencies and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Supports courtroom operations and programs, including ordering supplies, coordinating court functions, meetings, and events, and distributing deliveries.
- Assists with equipment and phone setup, maintains internal contact lists, and practices continual process improvement for court operations and programs.
- Assists with recruitment of new employees, including screening applications, scheduling interviews, and coordinating between applicants and supervisors.
- Facilitates new employee onboarding and orientation, including creating system accounts, hosting building tours, and updating distribution lists.
- Develops, deploys, and manages the internal SharePoint website and the District website.
- Processes invoices for interpreters, contract personnel, and court-appointed counsel.
- Assists with implementing process and procedure changes due to new or amended legislation and trains staff appropriately.
- Conducts data integrity reviews, identifies errors, and recommends corrections and improvements to increase effectiveness and efficiency.
- Attends monthly Data Integrity Report meetings and liaises with external stakeholders, co-workers, Clerk of Court, District administrative team, and other district and state court administrative staff.
- Attends meetings and trainings as required.
- Provides guidance and may oversee another employee, including work quality, training, instructing, and work assignments.
- Offers advice to others outside direct reporting relationships on specific problems or general policies, considering different viewpoints to reach agreement.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. (Additional relevant work experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required formal education).
- Five (5) years of experience in a trial court, clerk office, or related administrative field.
Skills
- Recognized authority in an area of expertise related to the work; technical expertise sought by others across the organization.
- Ability to apply technical skills in a wide and often unpredictable range of contexts.
- Responsible for billing, collection, and/or accounting of funds, including handling.
Work Environment
- Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally; sitting most of the time with only occasional walking and standing.
- Office or similar indoor environment; confined space.
- Exposure to individuals who are hostile or irate, including those with known violent backgrounds.
