About the role

This position involves operating company vehicles to deliver and pick up packages while ensuring compliance with FedEx service standards. The role also includes providing customer service and covering assigned routes within the station’s service area.

Responsibilities

• Operate company vehicles to deliver and pick up packages.
• Check shipments for conformance to FedEx service standards.
• Cover assigned routes within the station's service area.
• Provide related customer service functions.

Requirements

• Minimum Education: High school diploma/GED.
• Minimum Experience: Six (6) months courier experience preferred. Must be able to demonstrate area knowledge.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to maneuver packages of any weight above 50 lbs with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person.
• Good human relations and verbal communication skills.
• Thorough knowledge of the station's service area preferred.
• Demonstrated skills in adaptability, dependability, and excellent courier methods.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials, and respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance.

Job Conditions

• Neat appearance since customer contact is required.
• Must meet and maintain the qualifications as outlined in the federal motor carrier safety regulations.
• Requires medical exam in accordance with FMCSA or FAA regulations.
• Note: there are specific requirements for any employee that operates a company vehicle. Please refer to policy 4-48 for exact job requirements.
• Must obtain and maintain a valid driver's license in accordance with your state requirements for type of vehicle assigned and have a good driving record as outlined in policy.
• Non-covered safety-sensitive position.
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

Preferred Qualifications

• Pay: $23.42 per hour PLUS $2.00 per hour pay premium for all hours worked.
• Additional Details: Monday-Friday - Variable Shifts - Some Saturdays may be required.
