About the role

Operates company vehicles to provide courteous and efficient delivery and pick-up of packages. Checks shipments for conformance to FedEx service standards. Provides coverage for all assigned routes within the station's service area. Performs related customer service functions.

Responsibilities

• Operate company vehicles to deliver and pick up packages
• Check shipments for conformance to FedEx service standards
• Provide coverage for assigned routes within the station's service area
• Perform related customer service functions

Requirements

• Lift 50 lbs and maneuver packages weighing up to 50 lbs with appropriate equipment or assistance
• Show thorough knowledge of the station's service area
• Adaptability, dependability, and excellent courier methods
• Able to read and speak English sufficiently for customer contact
• Meet and maintain qualifications as outlined in federal motor carrier safety regulations
• Have a valid driver's license and good driving record

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Six (6) months courier experience preferred
• Able to demonstrate area knowledge
• At least 21 years of age

Skills

• Good human relations and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safely

Job Conditions

• Neat appearance due to customer contact
• Maintain qualifications as outlined in federal motor carrier safety regulations
• Requires medical exam in accordance with FMCSA or FAA regulations
• Non-covered safety-sensitive position

Preferred Qualifications

Overnight travel required 1 week per month.
