About the role

NHS Highland is embarking on an exciting new chapter following a comprehensive service redesign, and we are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our Corporate Governance Service as a Corporate Administrator.

Responsibilities

  • Working closely with Directors in all aspects of their work, understanding their workload and its complexities to enable them to focus on key priorities.
  • Providing a confidential, efficient, effective administrative service.
  • Interpreting and prioritising mail.
  • Developing and maintaining systems for the recording and actioning of mail.
  • Preparing responses to correspondence.
  • Effectively managing electronic diaries.
  • Planning, organising and servicing Board and Committee meetings to a high standard, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Resolving day‑to‑day problems independently and liaising with Corporate Support Team colleagues and other directorates.
  • Providing assistance with administrative processes supporting board governance, corporate records management, risk register updates, whistleblowing standards, freedom of information requests and complaints.

Requirements and Skills

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Resilience and the ability to engage effectively with colleagues at all levels.
  • A passion for innovation, continuous organisational improvement, and team development.
  • Strong minute‑taking ability.
  • Previous experience in a committee and executive support role (desirable).
