Coordinator, Special Projects

Provides expertise, service, and support in the development, coordination, and supervision of strategic initiatives designed to improve school performance, strengthen instructional systems, and expand innovative learning opportunities across the district. Provides leadership in the development and implementation of grading and reporting practices and professional learning for special projects. Ensures that the instructional technology programs address and support the Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS) system-wide goals and priorities, the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future implementation plan, and the MSDE College and Career Ready Standards.

Responsibilities

• Assists with the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of School Improvement Grant initiatives and other district improvement efforts designed to improve student achievement and school performance.
• Assists in the development and dissemination of evidence-based instructional resources, guidance documents, and professional learning opportunities that support effective teaching, learning, and school improvement.
• Provides support to schools identified for Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI), Additional Targeted Support and Improvement (ATSI), and Targeted Support and Improvement (TSI) by assisting with the development, implementation, and monitoring of school improvement plans.
• Coordinates assigned curriculum and instruction projects that support district priorities, strategic goals, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Assists with the implementation and ongoing refinement of district grading and reporting practices.
• Supports instructional technology initiatives by coordinating the implementation of instructional platforms, digital learning tools, and technology-enhanced instructional practices.
• Collaborates with curriculum offices, school leadership teams, and other departments to support the implementation and alignment of instructional initiatives and improvement strategies.
• Works collaboratively with the Assessment and Data Analytics office to collect, organize, and analyze data to support program evaluation and continuous improvement efforts.
• Utilizes performance data to monitor project implementation, identify trends, and support continuous improvement planning and decision-making.
• Coordinates project activities, facilitates meetings, and provides guidance and technical assistance to school and district staff related to assigned initiatives.
• Assists in preparing reports, presentations, communications, and other materials for district leadership and stakeholders.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree.
• Five years’ teaching or related experience.
• Three years’ leadership/management experience in an education setting.
• Possession of a Maryland Educator Advanced Professional Certificate in an area appropriate to the assignment with an Administrator I endorsement, or possession of, or eligibility for, a Maryland Educator Advanced Professional License in an area appropriate to the assignment and Administrator I Licensure.

$112,787 - $170,897
