About the role

The West Coast Studio Operations HR team at NBCUniversal is seeking a high-energy, results-driven, and innovative HR Coordinator. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain experience in both generalist and specialist HR work, supporting a diverse group of employees.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary subject matter expert for HR systems and transactions, ensuring smooth, accurate, and timely processing.
  • Own end-to-end employee lifecycle transactions, including job postings, onboarding communications, status changes, and offboarding processes.
  • Initiate and manage a variety of HR requests, such as compensation analyses, employment agreements, and organizational changes.
  • Process employee payment requests and collaborate with Payroll to ensure accuracy, compliance, and on-time delivery.
  • Support the implementation of HR programs and initiatives, including large-scale communications and event logistics.
  • Proactively step into project coordination or leadership roles, supporting both local HR initiatives and broader company-wide projects.
  • Research and respond to ad hoc inquiries, synthesizing information and delivering clear, timely, and well-informed insights or solutions.
  • Contribute creative ideas and execution support for employee engagement efforts, designing and delivering programs that enhance the employee experience.
  • Maintain and audit HR data integrity, ensuring systems, reports, and organizational charts are accurate, up-to-date, and consistent.
  • Leverage data to generate insights and tell a clear story, producing meaningful reports and metrics to support decision-making.
  • Support compliance and operational excellence by staying informed on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices.
  • Train and support business partners and employees on HR processes and tools, including timekeeping, onboarding practices, and system usage.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of work experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree OR equivalent work experience
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Useful experience: Union experience
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and use discretion
  • Strong in interpersonal & communication skills with an ability to interact with people at all levels
  • Demonstrates accountability, thinks critically, independently, and presents solutions
  • A self-starter who takes initiative
  • Resourceful and able to anticipate/see around corners
  • Able to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Process orientated, detail oriented, and have great follow through skills

  • Interested in a career in HR

Eligibility Requirements

  • Interested candidates must apply to be considered
  • Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA a minimum of 4 days/week
  • Willing to work overtime when required
  • Willing to travel for work related business if necessary
  • Unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
  • Must be 18 years or older
