Essential Duties

  • Ensures compliance with laws, regulations, policies and procedures pertaining to functional area.
  • Oversees the operations and activities of monitoring contract performance, including developing and tracking key metrics.
  • Covers training of new professional and/or technical contract staff.
  • Serves as the principal contract liaison between agency management, contractors, the Legislature, and other customers.
  • Makes recommendations concerning contract administration systems.
  • Provides advanced technical and administrative support to include reviewing, processing, answering questions, providing assistance and handling complaints and resolution of discrepancies and problems regarding contracts, billing, payment and warrants.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in business administration, finance, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant work experience: 7 years contract administration, contract management, contract development, or related experience.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver’s license.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Light work: Lift up to 20 lbs at a time and frequently lift or carry objects up to 10 lbs
  • Standing - prolonged periods of time
  • Repetitive Motion - substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
  • Close Visual Acuity - work includes data/figures; view a computer screen; extensive reading

The Beaumont Area Office is seeking a Contract Administrator II interested in building a long-term career with the Texas Department of Transportation.
