About the role
The Conflicts Researcher plays a crucial role in ensuring that potential conflicts of interest are identified and managed efficiently. This position is integral to the firm's new business intake and lateral hiring processes.
Responsibilities
- Performs quality control reviews of client/matter intake, ensuring accuracy and adherence to policies and procedures.
- Conducts conflict of interest searches for clients, matters, and lateral hires, using the Firm’s conflicts and intake database.
- Reviews and analyzes conflict of interest reports, making adjustments as necessary to refine search terms and strategies.
- Carries out factual research using internal and external resources, collaborating with the ICS team and Office of General Counsel to resolve conflicts.
- Participates in database maintenance, data entry, and special projects as requested by the Intake Manager.
- Continuously develops skills, processes, and knowledge related to conflicts of interest and legal industry trends.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in an administrative role, preferably in a legal environment.
Qualifications
- Strong research skills using internal and external resources.
- Excellent organizational skills, capable of producing high-quality work under pressure.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, able to interact with diverse groups of people.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Skills
- Ability to compile, review, filter, synthesize, and interpret information.
- Knowledge of applicable rules regarding conflicts of interest and trends in the legal industry.
