Community Living Overnight Nursing Supervisor

The Overnight Nursing Supervisor functions as an expert RN clinician and consultant for the care and treatment of individuals with severe to profound physical and mental disabilities.

Partnering with the Medical Team, the Clinical Nurse RN works to establish a framework of Evidence-Based Nursing Practice and Competency to maintain a cohesive nursing team. In collaboration with the Director of Medical Services, Program Managers, program directors, therapists, physicians, parents/guardians, and service coordinators, the Clinical Nurse RN monitors the care of individuals and provides support to improve care and outcomes in Community Living and Community Support Services.

This position provides program oversight for designated aspects of care, including but not limited to day habilitation services, community living services, Medication Aide Level 1 training, Skills Proficiency Tracking, Infection Prevention and Control, Risk Assessment, and RN oversight for assigned LPN caseloads. The Clinical Nurse RN serves as a leader, patient advocate, agent of change, cost-effective practitioner, and delegating nurse to MA1 staff.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a framework of Evidence-Based Nursing Practice and Competency.
• Monitor the care of individuals with severe to profound developmental disabilities.
• Provide support to improve individual outcomes in Community Living and Community Support Services.
• Oversee aspects of care such as day habilitation services, community living services, Medication Aide Level 1 training, Skills Proficiency Tracking, Infection Prevention and Control, and Risk Assessment.
• Provide RN oversight for assigned LPN caseloads.
• Serve as a leader, patient advocate, and agent of change within the nursing team.
• Train and supervise staff as assigned by the Director of Medical Services.
• Perform transfers of individuals using assistive lifting devices.
• Take and give accurate verbal directions and telephone orders.
• Maintain confidential information and computerized records.

Requirements

• Must be a licensed RN or LPN in the state of Missouri (RN preferred).
• Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience preferred.
• Must be CPR/AED certified.
• Valid Missouri Driver's License in good standing.
• Experience and knowledge of care principles affecting individuals with severe to profound developmental disabilities.
• Demonstrated supervisory and organizational skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
• Proficient keyboard and software skills for maintaining computerized records.
• Knowledge of the care planning process.
• Proven ability to be flexible and responsive to the needs of individuals.
• Ability to work independently and demonstrate professionalism in all healthcare settings.
• Willingness to obtain certification to teach Medication Aide Level 1 (MA1) class.

Schedule
