Community Assistant - Hillside Commons (Student Living)
About the role
The Community Assistant at Hillside Commons is responsible for performing administrative tasks, assisting with sales and leasing activities, and supporting resident functions. The position requires flexibility in scheduling and physical demands.
Responsibilities
- Administers administrative tasks such as copying documents, filing resident files, preparing notices, handling resident calls, and organizing rent payments and other collateral materials.
- Affords support to sales and leasing activities by conducting virtual tours, responding to online inquiries, greeting and qualifying prospects, conducting property tours, and showing apartments.
- Supports the lease preparation process by generating all required lease paperwork and organizing resident lease files.
- Assists with move-in and move-out processes for residents, committing to working these dates.
- Answers incoming calls and sets appointments for prospects to tour the property.
- Engages in on-campus marketing outreach to generate community awareness and qualified traffic.
- Aids in resident functions, including parties, birthday cards, unit visits, and other programs to enhance resident satisfaction.
- Schedules and conducts resident visits as directed and distributes notices such as flyers, newsletters, resident surveys, and late notices.
- Functions as an after-hours liaison between residents and property management, responding to after-hours emergencies within a required period of time.
- Responds quickly and courteously to resident concerns and questions, taking prompt action to solve problems and/or document and convey resident or other requests to the appropriate individual(s).
Requirements
Physical demands include standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods, bending, stooping, climbing ladders, reaching, carrying objects, and crawling in confined areas. Incumbents must also work inside and outside in all weather conditions, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, or maneuvering weights of up to twenty-five (25) pounds independently and fifty (50) pounds with assistance. Rare or regular travel may be required to assist other properties as needed, attend training classes, business meetings, or other situations necessary for the accomplishment of some or all of the daily responsibilities of this position. Incumbents must be able to work a flexible work schedule, which includes taking "call" during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications
Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, with a preference for college coursework in business administration, real estate, or a related field. Experience in customer service, sales, or property management is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with property management software are also beneficial.
Skills
Skills required include strong organizational abilities, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively. Familiarity with property management systems and the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially are essential.

Pay
The hourly rate for this position is $16.00 - $17.00 per hour.
