About the role
Our Blood Institute is seeking a Communications Consultant to join our Oklahoma City team. This is an opportunity for an experienced communications, marketing, or analytics professional to use data, strategy, and creative problem-solving to strengthen donor engagement and help save lives. Building on the responsibilities of a Communication Coordinator II, the Communications Consultant takes a more strategic role by analyzing historical and real-time data, developing targeted donor segments, advising stakeholders, evaluating communication channels, and supporting complex donor engagement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Create and manage advanced donor lists and segmentation strategies for targeted campaigns.
- Analyze historical and real-time data to measure communication effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Provide data-driven recommendations to stakeholders to optimize marketing, communications, and donor engagement.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to align communication strategies with organizational priorities.
- Evaluate communication channels and recommend innovative approaches to maximize reach and impact.
- Support donor reward and loyalty program functions, including point pushes, reconciliation, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
- Develop reports and presentations that translate data and insights into actionable recommendations for leadership.
- Support and mentor Communication Coordinators in list-building logic and communication execution.
- Contribute to complex communication projects across multiple channels, including email, text, push notifications, direct mail, cloud calls, and social media.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of experience in communications strategy, marketing, analytics, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to use data and analytics to guide business and communication decisions.
- Advanced experience with donor segmentation, database management, and list creation using logical criteria.
- Strong communication, presentation, analytical, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to work independently, solve problems, and think strategically about long-term goals.
- Familiarity with donor rewards, loyalty programs, or similar customer engagement systems.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to turn complex information into clear, actionable recommendations.

Pay
Competitive salary based on education and/or experience, plus a $500 bonus after 6 months and a $1,000 bonus after 1 year.
Schedule
- Days: Monday through Friday; some weekends
- Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; some evenings
