Commercial Account Executive

About the role
As a Commercial Account Executive, you will work as part of an account team responsible for driving growth, value, and partnership with some of our largest strategic customers. You will align to new logo prospecting within the Commercial segment (500-5K employee size), understanding how to prospect effectively into the Enterprise, manage large competitive sales cycles, and partner with internal resources to land new logos. You’ll help grow revenue by inspiring prospects to adopt our technology-first approach to background checks, maintaining productivity, motivation, and passion for the mission.
Responsibilities
- Drive new business sales within the assigned Commercial segment
- Act as a consultative trusted advisor by building in-depth relationships and understanding customer business goals and objectives
- Collaborate with Human Resource leadership, Program Managers, Engineering, and Product teams to establish and deliver a shared product roadmap
- Hunt for and prospect into new logos, driving sales at new accounts
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Engineering, Product, Sales, Support, and executives) to complete client goals and serve as the voice of the client for visibility and escalations
- Speak to Checkr offerings as they relate to customer needs and engage other Checkr resources as required
- Exhibit business acumen and strategic thinking, consulting on and aligning with global customer strategies
- Maintain deep and up-to-date knowledge of Checkr’s product portfolio to communicate the benefits of new features and enhancements
- Assist clients and champions in communicating the value of Checkr to their internal stakeholders
- Build account plans for named accounts that align with Checkr’s strategy, identifying key decision makers, regional approaches, buying processes, and revenue opportunities
- Communicate effectively with different stakeholders within the client organization and understand the entire buying committee
- Negotiate and close orders with the larger Checkr strategy in mind, providing post-contract support to ensure product delivery and satisfaction
- Represent market trends and client needs to Executive and Product teams to evolve products and identify future needs
- Partner cross-functionally to drive funnel analytics, identifying gaps, areas for improvement, and optimizations through people, process, and systems/products
Requirements
- 2-3 years of B2B SaaS or consumption-based tech sales experience
- Willingness and ability to open new conversations at target accounts
- Experience closing new business accounts with large global/multinational customers, including complex organizational structures
- Experience selling to EVPs, CXOs, and end-users (in the same sales cycle) in both individual and team sales environments
- Proven success in selling innovative and disruptive technology
- Proven experience in a quota-exceeding sales role
- Demonstrated ability to generate and execute against a plan for deep penetration into global accounts
- Proven track record of selling software or technology at the C-level
- Creative mindset with the ability to think outside the box for complex situations
- Ability to navigate large organizations’ political landscape to maintain and expand relationships at all levels
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, simplifying complex topics in a friendly and approachable manner
- Demonstrable track record of quota-carrying software or technology sales, new logo hunting, account management, and team leadership
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and adapt to changing business needs
- Enjoy planning, adjusting, executing, winning, and celebrating as a team
- An A-player mindset with a strong bias for action: raising the bar, moving with urgency, staying resilient through ambiguity, and taking ownership to deliver meaningful outcomes
Pay
We use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop ranges for our roles. If this role is remote, the top to bottom of the possible range is listed below, but the target range for an exact location will be specified during the recruiting discussion.
On-target Earnings OR Base Salary range (San Francisco, CA): $164,475—$193,500 USD

Schedule
At Checkr, we believe an in-office work environment strengthens collaboration, drives innovation, and encourages connection. Individuals are expected to work from the office 3+ days a week.
