Responsibilities
- Grades approximately 60,000 chicks.
- Operates robot to vaccinate and beak trim approximately 2,000 chicks per hour, per customer order.
- Performs toe trim on approximately 8,000 chicks for identification purposes if required.
- Stack and move approximately 600 boxes of processed chicks.
- Performs dubbing on combs and dotting heads on approximately 8,000 chicks for identification purposes (25%).
- Transfers up to 100 or more cases of eggs from a pallet and stack up to approximately 5 feet high onto another pallet and label cases.
- Moves approximately 25-50 farm buggies full of eggs on/off the egg truck and into proper place within the Egg Room daily.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area (25%).
- Cleans and sanitizes the hatchery with a pressure washer.
- Washes and sanitizes approximately 42 farm buggies using pressure washer.
- Reads setters and hatchers every three hours.
- Pulls out approximately 36 stacks of 40 chick boxes for the Pull Crew (25%).
Requirements
- Must have at least 12 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no additional job gaps in employment greater than 6 months in the past 36 months.
- Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.).
- Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines.
Qualifications
- Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must regularly lift and stack chick boxes (wheeled dolly) weighing up to 12 pounds and will regularly be required to push or pull stacks of boxes up to 125 pounds.
- Must be able to obtain scissor lift certification.

Pay
Starting Pay: $17.00 per hour plus additional shift differential for evenings, nights and weekends.
Schedule
4-5 days per week, 1st or 2nd shift hours, depending on work assignment.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand majority of shift (concrete floor); walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk or hear.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision; distance vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus.
