Coaching Position - Middle School 7th & 8th Grade Assistant Track Coach (26-27 school year)

About the role

Help motivate and support middle school athletes as they sprint, jump, throw, and grow! The Assistant Track Coach will help teach fundamentals, encourage teamwork and sportsmanship, and create a fun, positive environment where student-athletes can build confidence and skills both on and off the track. Great opportunity for someone who enjoys mentoring students and sharing a passion for track and field!

Responsibilities

• Teach fundamental track and field skills to 7th and 8th grade athletes
• Encourage teamwork and sportsmanship among student-athletes
• Create a positive and engaging environment for student-athletes
• Mentor and support student-athletes in their development
• Work closely with the head coach to plan training sessions and events

Requirements

• Passion for track and field and a commitment to working with young athletes
• Experience coaching or teaching athletics is preferred but not required
• Ability to work effectively with students and staff
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Some college coursework or relevant work experience in education or athletics

Skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of track and field techniques and rules
