Assistant Coach - Middle School Track

Seasonal position with stipend ranging from $3,395 to $4,185, based on the Middle School Coaches Salary Schedule and placement determined by years of coaching experience.

Requirements

  • Meet district and WIAA requirements, including a valid background check.
  • Head coaches must be at least 21 years of age; assistant coaches must be at least 19 years of age.
  • Possess a valid first aid and CPR card.
  • Complete the KSD online application process, including professional reference forms.
  • Annually complete:
    • WIAA general rules clinic
    • WIAA-approved rule clinic for the sport being coached
    • KSD Vector Training requirements prior to the beginning of the sports season
  • Complete Concussion recognition and management with Return to Play Protocols training (renew every three years as required by Washington State Law).
  • Complete Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness and Training (renew every three years as required by Washington State Law).
  • Before the beginning of the third year of coaching, complete one of the following:
    • School district-approved Coaching Principles training
    • NFHS Coaches Fundamentals Course
    • Attend all sessions of the WIAA Coaches School
    • Other Coaches School as approved by the WIAA or the local school district

    After initial completion, repeat this training every three years.

  • If hired, read and sign the KSD Coaches Manual.
