About the role
We're looking for a motivated CNC Tool Grinder Apprentice who is eager to learn a skilled trade and build a long-term career.
Responsibilities
- Learn the complete CNC tool grinding process, from reviewing work assignments to producing finished tools.
- Set up and operate advanced multi-axis CNC tool grinding machines.
- Select the appropriate grinding wheels and tooling for each job.
- Enter tool specifications and machine parameters into CNC controls.
- Perform first-piece inspections and make machine adjustments to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Read blueprints, work instructions, and technical drawings.
- Use precision measuring and testing equipment to verify product quality.
- Follow established safety and quality procedures while developing your machining skills.
Qualifications
- Strong math and problem-solving skills, including basic trigonometry for angle calculations.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn CNC machine controls.
- The ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings.
- Experience using or a willingness to learn precision measuring and inspection equipment.
- A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a desire to learn a skilled trade.
- The flexibility to train on 1st shift and transition to 2nd or 3rd shift after training.
