About the role
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated CNC Operator Apprentice to join our growing team. The individual will be a shop assistant with the following responsibilities:
Responsibilities
- Learn to safely operate CNC machinery and related production equipment.
- Assist experienced CNC Operators with daily machine setup and operation.
- Load and unload materials according to production requirements.
- Learn to read work orders, drawings, cut lists, and production instructions.
- Monitor machine operation and identify potential issues or abnormalities.
- Perform basic quality inspections to ensure products meet specifications.
- Measure parts using tape measures, calipers, and other basic measuring tools.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety policies and manufacturing procedures.
- Assist with routine machine maintenance and cleaning.
- Meet production schedules while maintaining attention to quality and accuracy.
- Perform other manufacturing duties as assigned.

Requirements
- Previous manufacturing, woodworking, construction, or machine experience is helpful but not required.
- Mechanical aptitude and an interest in learning CNC equipment.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical manufacturing tasks.
- Ability to lift and move materials as required.
- Willingness to learn and follow workplace safety procedures.
