CLN Scheduler - Heart Center Madison - FT - 1st Shift
About the role
Facilitates communication between patients, staff and physicians. Schedules hospital outpatient procedures and admissions in a timely and efficient manner.
Responsibilities
- Sits for long periods of time, stoops, bends and stretches for files and supplies
- Occasionally lifts files or paper weighing up to 50 pounds
- Operates a keyboard, operates a calculator, telephone, copier and other office equipment
- Views terminal for long periods of time without eyestrain or stress
- Speaks clearly and concisely
- Reads, understands, and follows oral and written instructions
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with patients, employees, supervisors, physicians and the public
- Keeps up-to-date with organization's policies and procedures
Requirements
Education: High School/GED required. Experience: Prefer one year work experience, preferably in a medical office setting. Knowledge of medical terminology desirable.

- Knowledge of medical business office procedures and practices
- Knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation to type patient information
- Skills in operating a computer and photocopy machine
- Skills in answering the telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner
- Ability to speak clearly and concisely
- Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, supervisors, physicians and the public
- Knowledge of the organization’s policies and procedures
- Effective work habits including, but not limited to, regular attendance, teamwork, initiative, dependability, and promptness
