Clinical Social Worker, Inpatient General Surgery 32 hours

About the role

We are seeking an Inpatient General Surgery Social Worker to provide a range of clinical social work services to children, adolescents, and their families. In this role, you will work closely with a strong multidisciplinary team to support patients and families throughout their hospital experience. This is an excellent opportunity for a social worker who enjoys a collaborative environment and is passionate about helping children and families navigate complex medical situations.

Responsibilities

• Psychosocial screening and assessments, counseling, and crisis intervention
• Resource information and referral, facilitation of use of hospital and community resources
• Psychosocial consultation to the multidisciplinary health care team

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work
• Flexibility and ability to work in fast-paced multidisciplinary team environment as well as excellent communication and consultation skills
• Previous medical social work experience preferred
• Experience with child protection and bereavement counseling helpful
• State of MA LCSW required; State of MA LICSW preferred

Schedule

• 32-hour position, with four 8-hour days, 8:30a–5:00p
• Coverage needs are Monday and Friday, with flexibility for scheduled day off being Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday
• 100% onsite
