Clinical Social Worker, Inpatient General Surgery 32 hours
About the role
We are seeking an Inpatient General Surgery Social Worker to provide a range of clinical social work services to children, adolescents, and their families. In this role, you will work closely with a strong multidisciplinary team to support patients and families throughout their hospital experience. Responsibilities
- Psychosocial screening and assessments, counseling, and crisis intervention
- Resource information and referral, facilitation of use of hospital and community resources
- Psychosocial consultation to the multidisciplinary health care team
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in social work
Experience
- Flexibility and ability to work in fast-paced multidisciplinary team environment
- Excellent communication and consultation skills
- Previous medical social work experience preferred
- Experience with child protection and bereavement counseling helpful
Licensure
- State of MA LCSW
- State of MA LICSW preferred
Schedule
This is a 32-hour position, with four, 8-hour days from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Coverage needs are Monday and Friday, with flexibility for scheduled day off being Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. This position is 100% onsite.

New hires are eligible for a $4,000 sign-on bonus. The posted pay range reflects Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation at the time of posting. Base pay is determined by skills, experience, education, certifications, and other job-related factors.
