Clinical Pharmacist Specialist - ICU/Burn

About the Role

The Pharmacy Clinical Specialist is responsible for drug distribution, monitoring physician orders, providing drug information, and ensuring safe pharmacotherapy for patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex clinical pharmacy services including drug therapy management, pharmacokinetics, and therapy protocol development.
• Assist healthcare professionals with medication use challenges and cost containment strategies.
• Evaluate drug therapy orders for appropriateness and monitor effects.
• Document interventions, provide patient drug education, and mentor pharmacy residents/students.
• Participate in drug use evaluation programs and pharmacy committees.
• Perform duties of a centralized staff pharmacist when needed and support operational initiatives.

Requirements

• Doctor of Pharmacy or BS with pediatric experience, licensed by the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy.
• Post Graduate Year 1 Pharmacy Residency (PGY1) or equivalent experience; PGY2 preferred.
• Experience with adult/pediatric/neonatal drug use, interdepartmental collaboration, and proficiency in MS Office and pharmacy software.
• Strong clinical, communication, and collaborative skills.
