About the role

The Clinical Pharmacist Specialist collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes in the ICU. The role offers opportunities to impact patient care through advanced clinical practices and leadership in pharmacy initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Participate in daily ICU rounds
• Provide clinical pharmacy services such as order verification, pharmacokinetic consults, warfarin management, and TPN consultations
• Evaluate medication profiles and monitor therapy progress
• Contribute to research and quality improvement initiatives
• Serve as a preceptor for pharmacy residents and students
• Participate in committee activities
• Assess patient health status and optimize medication therapy for cost-effective outcomes
• Participate in professional development, research, and performance improvement activities
• Mentor and educate pharmacy staff, residents, and students
• Implement drug cost reduction programs

Requirements

• PGY1 residency
• Licensure in Medication Therapy Services in MO
• RPh certification

Qualifications

• Doctorate in Pharmacy
• Minimum 2 years of experience; 2‑5 years preferred
