Clinical Pharmacist Specialist - ICU

About the role

This position is for a Clinical Pharmacist Specialist responsible for improving patient outcomes in the ICU through direct clinical pharmacy services. Work in a team-based, dynamic healthcare setting that emphasizes clinical excellence, with responsibilities including patient care, research, and education in a hospital pharmacy setting.

Responsibilities

• Participate in daily ICU rounds
• Verify medication orders
• Provide pharmacokinetic, warfarin, and TPN consults
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and dietitians
• Contribute to research, committee activities, and serve as a preceptor for pharmacy residents and students
• Assess patient health status and medication profiles for optimal outcomes
• Monitor therapy, document activities, and evaluate goals of care
• Participate in professional development, research, and performance improvement
• Educate and mentor pharmacy staff, residents, and students
• Implement drug cost reduction initiatives

Requirements

• PGY1 residency required
• Doctorate in Pharmacy (PharmD)
• Minimum 2 years of experience, with 2-5 years preferred
• Licensure as RPh and Medication Therapy Services certification in MO
• Strong clinical, collaborative, and mentorship skills
