Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within established nursing standards.
• Promotes patient- and family-centered care in a healing environment.
• Educates patients and families on managing illness or injury, including post-treatment home care needs and medication administration.
• Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Engages in professional development.
• Develops, implements, and documents individualized plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team and patient, family, or caregiver, consistent with nursing care standards.
• Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum.
• Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care.
• Assesses patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population-specific needs.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: Nursing Diploma or Associate’s Degree
• Experience: No prior experience required
• Supervisor Experience: None required
• Licenses & Certifications: RN required

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

Facility Overview

Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital serves families in St. Charles, Lincoln, and Warren counties. The 102-bed community hospital offers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services including the Siteman Cancer Center, Breast Health and Women’s Center, Cardiology Center, Neurosurgery Center, and Outpatient Surgery and Endoscopy Center. It holds accreditation as a Chest Pain Center and Level II stroke certification. Outpatient services include physical therapy, a sleep lab, and cardio-pulmonary rehabilitation.
