About the role

Justice Resource Institute (JRI) supports the Department of Youth Services (DYS) by placing qualified Clinical Directors and Clinicians in their Northeast, Central, and Southeast programs. This position is based at the DYS Paul T. Leahy Center in Worcester, MA.

Compensation

The pay for this position is $87,651 per year. The listed range reflects what we reasonably and in good faith expect to pay for this role at the time of posting the position. The actual compensation an employee is offered may vary based on several factors such as experience, education, licensure, certifications and qualifications. This range may be modified in the future.

Schedules

Offered: 4-Day Work Week: Monday - Thursday or Tuesday - Friday 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM OR 5-Day Work Week: Monday - Friday 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM or 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM This position requires in-person attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee clinical services, and, as needed, at the Worcester County Overnight Arrest Unit.
  • Conduct intake screenings of youth to determine the appropriateness of placement at a community-based option.
  • Monitor clinical well-being of youth through in-person sessions, engagement with parents/guardians, collaboration with CRRC foster parents, and communication with the youth’s school, DCF Social Worker, Probation Officer, DYS Detention Diversion Specialists, and other involved agencies.
  • Assess suicide risk of CRRC youth and serve as a liaison with emergency mental health services for youth requiring screening for acute psychiatric hospitalization.
  • Complete Court-ordered 68A Evaluations, provide clinical licensure supervision to clinicians on the Leahy campus, engage in trainings, and provide guidance to CRRC staff.
  • Oversee clinical services for detained youth at the Central Reception Intake (CRI) program, including temporary detention placement for girls.
  • Support the clinical needs of youth including daily assessment and check-ins, or therapeutic programming when appropriate.

Requirements

  • Current/active MA LICSW or MA LMHC.
  • Candidates must have experience working with adolescents and their families, expertise in suicide risk assessment, knowledge in case conceptualization, and crisis stabilization and management.
  • Knowledge of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and other cognitive-behavioral therapies; comprehensive training in DBT will be offered.
  • Must be flexible to meet the needs of youth and families; ability to work late afternoon/evening hours as needed.
  • Acceptable driving record and state/federal background checks.
  • Strongly Preferred: At least three years post-licensure experience, at least two years supervisory experience, at least one year clinical supervisory experience, Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply.
