About the role
Texas Children’s is searching for a Clinical Ambulatory Services Representative II for their Outpatient Pediatrics Cardiology Association clinic in Houston. This position requires excellent customer service skills and experience in a fast-paced setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service as the first contact for patients, providers, and staff accessing ambulatory clinics.
- Expedites the outpatient check-in and check-out processes by reviewing appointment status using an electronic appointment system.
- Collects pre-visit payments and communicates with the clinic liaison regarding factors impacting the patient visit and general clinic-patient flow.
- Safeguards the financial integrity of the patient's account by verifying benefits and obtaining referrals, authorizations, and pre-certifications.
Qualifications
- A Medical Assistant certification in one of the following: CCMA, National Health Career Association (NHA)CMA-AAM, AAMA, AMCA, EMT, EMT-A, EMT-B, EMT-I, EMT-P, LIC PAR, NCMA, NRCMA, RMA, or a related field.
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Two years of experience in a clinical setting.
- Healthcare and/or Pediatric experience preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred.
