About the role

We are searching for a Clinical Ambulatory Services Representative II-Outpatient Ophthalmology Clinic at the West Campus.

Responsibilities

  • Performs patient registration procedures per department process
  • Obtains and verifies patient demographic data for each encounter
  • Confirms patient appointments, verifying patient demographics and insurance information
  • Enters, batches, and reconciles charges daily
  • Serves in key role to assure most efficient patient throughput in exam rooms
  • Provides basic office support including ordering and maintaining office/clinic supplies; maintaining office equipment; managing correspondence; copying, faxing, mailing and filing documents; and collecting and distributing mail

Requirements

  • Certified Medical Assistant IS required in one of the following certifications: CCMA - Cert-Cert Clinical MA - CCMA National Health Career Association (NHA)CMA-AAM - Cert-Cert Medical Assistant American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)CMA-C - Clinical Medical Assistant Certification American Medical Certification Association (AMCA)EMT - Emergency Medical Techn Texas Department of State Health ServicesEMT-A - Advanced EMT Texas Department of State Health ServicesEMT-B - Emergency Medical Techn-Basic Texas Department of State Health ServicesEMT-I - Emergency Medical Techn-Interm Texas Department of State Health ServicesEMT-P - Emergency Medical Techn-Parame Texas Department of State Health ServicesLIC PAR - Lic-Paramedic Texas Department of State Health ServicesNCMA - National Cert Med Assistant National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)NRCMA - Nat Reg Cert Med Assistant National Association of Health Professionals (NAHP)RMA - Registered Medical Assistant American Association of Medical Personnel, American Allied Health, American Medical Technologists, or American Registry of Medical Assistants
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 2-years’ experience in a clinical setting required
  • Healthcare and/or Pediatric experience preferred
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred

Texas Children’s Hospital West Campus is Houston’s first community hospital designed, built and equipped exclusively for children in one of the city’s most rapidly growing communities in the area from Sugar Land to Bryan-College Station, Texas. Located at I-10 and Barker Cypress, our 515,007-square-foot hospital houses the only 24/7 pediatric emergency room in the Greater West Houston area, four operating rooms, 16-bed pediatric intensive care unit, 46 acute care beds, advanced imaging services including MRI and CT scans, a neurophysiology sleep lab, a pathology lab and a full-scale pharmacy.
