Clinical Ambulatory Services Rep II - Outpatient Pediatrics Cardiology Association Houston

About the role

Texas Children’s is searching for a Clinical Ambulatory Services Representative II for their Outpatient Pediatrics Cardiology Association clinic in Houston. This position requires excellent customer service skills and experience in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service as the first contact for patients, providers, and staff accessing ambulatory clinics.
• Expedites the outpatient check-in and check-out processes by reviewing appointment status using an electronic appointment system.
• Collects pre-visit payments and communicates with the clinic liaison regarding factors impacting the patient visit and general clinic-patient flow.
• Safeguards the financial integrity of the patient's account by verifying benefits and obtaining referrals, authorizations, and pre-certifications.

Qualifications

• A Medical Assistant certification is required in one of the following certifications: CCMA, CCMC, NHA-CMA, AMCA-CMA, AMCA-CMA-C, TDA-EMT, TDA-EMT-A, TDA-EMT-B, TDA-EMT-I, TDA-EMT-P, TDA-LIC-PR, NCMA, NRCMA, RMA.
• A high school diploma or GED is required.
• Two years of experience in a clinical setting is required.
• Healthcare and/or Pediatric experience is preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish/English is preferred.
