Position Responsibilities
- Possess pre-sale activities including participating in prospect stage activities like reviewing current benefit strategies and creating content.
- Engage in new business implementation tasks such as attending new business onboarding meetings, establishing a client service calendar, conducting compliance assessments, and identifying Kapnick Lens integration needs.
- Develop and manage a 2–5 year employee benefits strategy aligned with client goals and objectives.
- Provide leadership and oversight for delivering Kapnick’s employee benefits services, ensuring a high-quality client experience.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients and carrier partners, identify opportunities for cross-selling and account rounding.
Strategy
- Create and update a short and long-term strategy across multiple EB disciplines 9 months prior to renewal.
- Identify components of strategy to be considered for upcoming renewal and schedule carrier/partner meetings to introduce new ideas to clients.
- Communicate with the BAC and collaborate with Analytics Consultant to deliver Trend Driver report and determine appropriate Lens reports.
- Conduct pre-meeting collaboration sessions with other members of the team and take clear notes or assign note taking to another service team member.
Open Enrollment & Implementation
- Create a smooth hand-off to the service team, communicate client decisions clearly, assist the Account Manager with renewal decisions, document and review them, and participate in open enrollment communication meetings.
- Audit and deliver PCORI fees to the client, participate in at-risk client meetings, and if necessary, conduct lessons learned meetings.
Ongoing Service
- Oversee the overall client experience, hold team members accountable, resolve internal conflicts, and identify training and development opportunities.
- Provide client commentary on standard financial packages, insights, and recommendations, answer client financial questions, audit and deliver PCORI fees, and participate in at-risk client meetings.
- Act as a mentor to junior members of the team, actively transfer knowledge and experience, and engage in personal and professional development opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school)
- Minimum of 5 years experience in group benefits
- Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, Teams), video conferencing, and Agency Management Systems
- Life & Health License: Required
- Willingness and ability to travel as necessary and attend industry meetings if so instructed
