About the role
The Clerical Supervisor II provides day-to-day leadership and oversight for a team of 9 clerical team members in a high-volume clinic. This position is responsible for supporting daily operations, ensuring effective staffing and coverage, monitoring time and attendance, and maintaining efficient front-office workflows.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, coach, and support a team of 9 clerical team members.
- Manage daily staffing, coverage, and workflow to support clinic operations.
- Monitor and approve time and attendance and assist with time reporting.
- Utilize Epic and Excel to track, monitor, and manage operational information.
- Provide hands-on coverage and support for phones, referrals, and front-desk operations as needed.
- Assist with managing high-volume patient traffic and ensuring a positive patient experience.
- Assist with training, onboarding, and performance management of clerical staff.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED, required.
- Two years of clerical experience in a medical office setting, required.
- One year of supervisory experience, preferred.
- Associate Degree in Health or Business Administration, preferred.
Skills
- Knowledge of organization policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of fiscal management and human resource management techniques.
- Knowledge of office management techniques and practices.
- Knowledge of computer systems and applications (Epic and Microsoft Excel).
- Skill in gathering, analyzing, and evaluating data.
- Skill in written and verbal communication.
- Ability to apply policies and principles to solve everyday problems and deal with a variety of situations.
- Ability to exercise initiative, problem-solving, and decision-making.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply clinic policies and procedures.
- Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions.
- Ability to establish priorities and coordinate work activities.
Physical requirements
- Stand and move around the majority of the day.
- Climb; lift patients and equipment; sit occasionally; bend and stoop.
- Push/pull wheelchairs, carts, and beds.
- See, hear, speak, smell, and touch.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience in a healthcare or high-volume clinic setting.
- Experience with Epic and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
